Project Description The subject of my master's thesis is to draft a virtual learning environment for secondary school students. The environment will host role plays and discussion forum aiming to strengthen the student's ability to show empathy towards people in life-situations other than their own. By giving the students roles or other characters through the role playing process, they will be required to think as these other characters do in order to act according to their role and its situation, and thereby become able to recognize and understand the world of the others. One fundamental aim of the project is to inspire collaboration between students with different cultural, social, political, and geographical backgrounds. This is also why a virtual environment is chosen and the scene of acting. The use of the internet and a virtual environment for this, allows collaboration between students from very different backgrounds and situated in different places, in a very direct way. This would otherwise be impossible. | ||
