Project Description Activeworlds.com presents us with the unique opportunity to reestablish ourselves in the AWEDU. 911 Gallery is much more than "just a gallery." Our mission as 911 Electronic Media Arts is to assist schools, galleries and the general public in understanding and appreciating digital art. For example in 1993-4 911 assisted Broad Ripple HS, Indianapolis, in setting up a computer art program and helped students create a website. More recently, we have worked with Unique Editions on a series of Digital Ateliers that allow the general public to experience the process of digital printmaking. What is it exactly, that we would like to do in our virtual space? Exactly what did in our front room - install monthly exhibitions of digital art, host gallery openings, conduct workshops, schedule performances, conduct meetings, and so on. The paradigm already exists for creating a gallery or exhibition space. Meetings are a given - the AWEDU being a virtual reality MUSE. Creative use of "bots" may allow 911 artists to create interactive installations. | ||
