Project Description Chalmers University of Technology are working on a project called Tidsdokumentet, "The Time Document" which is a nationwide project. The purpose of the project is to raise awareness about the relativity of our idea of time and to provide an experience of simultaneity and fellowship across boundaries. The project also provides information about various historical, scientific and cultural time perspectives and ways of measuring time. The information within the Time Document consist texts, pictures, and animations on ordinary web pages. We would like to provide an alternative and more educational structure for exploring different aspects of time and for that purpose we are working on a 3D virtual world called TimeDoc within the Active Worlds system. TimeDoc will be an educational tool for children between 9-12 years to learn different aspects of time through questions and interactive activities. We will provide an environment that supports the constructionist philosophy of learning, and the main focus will be on how to:
