Project Description The goal of the New Media program is to teach students the development of content and applications of interactive digital multimedia. They must have a firm grasp of the history, theory and principles of multimedia. In addition, they will have a basic knowledge of the applicability of new media. Students need to gain insight into the importance of multimedia for publishing and research and be aware of it's social and cultural significance. Active Worlds programs "UvA1, UvA2 and UvA3 will be used during a course titled Virtual Realities and Media Architectures, taught to third year students. During skills training students get acquainted with recent techniques and developments in internet and multimedia. The architectural design of the AW-technique is especially useful for students who want to learn how to cooperate in a multimedia environment. They need to attain a level of interactive knowledge of the 3D software packages without having to acquire a too advanced insight in its complex structure. Eventually, students will be graded on their level of competency but in theory and in skills of the construction of 3D interactive worlds. | ||
