Getting Started
Welcome!
This page is aimed at giving you some basic preliminary information about the Active Worlds Educational Universe, and the opportunity to visit some of the educational worlds.

The Basics
Choosing An Avatar
Choose AVATAR from the menu, and select an avatar from the list
If you choose 3rd Person from the VIEW menu, you will be able to see, from above, what your avatar looks like.
(click 1st person to return to looking straight ahead)
Moving Around
You can use either your mouse, or your key pad to move around each virtual world.
To move from world to world, choose the name from the world list on the left hand side of the screen, or click the link on the self-guided tour page. Please note that worlds with RED globes are closed to public viewing. For others, if you are not logged in as a citizen, you will be ejected from the world, as they are restricted to participants only.
Web Tool Bar
To navigate back and forth between web pages in the in-browser web window, use these arrows just like you would in traditional Internet Explorer or Netscape.
